Diversion and Reentry Services Program Specialist/PPM II

Salary: $34.33 – $43.52 Hourly
Location: Seattle, WA

Within DCHS, the Behavioral Health and Recovery Division (BHRD) administers an array of public mental health and substance abuse treatment, prevention, crisis response, and social services supporting people with behavioral health conditions in pursuing recovery.  As a part of this system, Diversion and Reentry Services (DRS) develops and manages programs to help individuals with behavioral health conditions access the services and supports they need to avoid or transition out of criminal legal and crisis systems and lead meaningful lives in communities of their choosing.

For this career service opportunity, the DRS section seeks a candidate with a combination of behavioral health clinical experience, criminal legal system knowledge, project management and excellent communication skills, and a passion for system reform toward equity and social justice and for the populations our programs serve.

The Diversion and Reentry Services Program Specialist will represent a continuum of behavioral health and legal diversion resources to an array of system partners, as well as assisting behavioral health providers and legal partners in navigating each other’s systems and accessing homeless housing, healthcare, and social service resources.  This position will receive and evaluate referrals for the Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) and assist in the project management of PACT and other intensive behavioral health programs, coordinate communications and provide community relations and information about specialized treatment and diversion programs, and participate in contract management and technical assistance for multiple projects.

This position will work closely with contracted behavioral health providers, criminal legal system partners such as jail health, defense social workers, court staff, and attorneys, hospital discharge planners and liaisons, the Coordinated Entry for All homeless housing access system, and other sections of BHRD at King County.
